Volunteer in South Africa
Volunteering, and service learning have been well documented for the enormous benefits they bring to both the server and those being served. The OLIVE LEAF Foundation, offers a volunteering experience which is second to none as it is rich and varied and can be adapted to meet the specific needs of our organisation, our programmes as well as the needs of the volunteer or intern. We have opportunities for direct and indirect service as well as for research internships. We welcome both skilled and semi-skilled volunteers from local communities as well as internationally as long as they are prepared to work within the scope of our Volunteer Policy.
We have established links with local and international academic institutions for service learning opportunities which involve many young people who come and work alongside our staff at grassroots level to enhance our programmes and build mutual understanding of our development challenges, collective problem solving and innovative development opportunities.
Through our volunteer opportunities local young people have the chance to enhance their skills, develop their leadership capacity and prepare for productive responsible adulthood.
Whether you are interested in working with orphans or vulnerable children and youth, in gender programmes or providing care and support for adults living with HIV/Aids , The OLIVE LEAF Foundation has a volunteering experience that will impact your life forever.
To volunteer or do a service learning stint with us, please complete an application form and we would be delighted to process your application. For Mandela Day volunteers, please contact site managers directly.
