Western Cape Department of Health
The Western Cape Department of Health has been a long-standing partner.
Currently there is a funding partnership for the Male Clinic in Site B Khayelitsha which is to encourage men to test for HIV/Aids, and treat STIs.
The partnership with the City of Cape Town is multi-faceted.
It involves networking on matters relating to HIV/AIDS and general health issues in Khayelitsha, Mfuleni and all other areas where we work. The OLIVE LEAF Foundation has VCT and adherence staff working at the Youth Clinics in Khayelitsha, referral are made from clinics into our Care and Support programme. We work closely with the CoCT in the Male Clinic to encourage men to do VCT and treat STIs. The clinic staff assist in providing health services at our Jamborees.
The Department of Sport and Recreation has assisted teh OLF Vendor Model Project to secure permits for the chidlren in the programme to vend at public swimming pools during the school holidays.
