Chief Financial Officer
Elanie Conradie has served as the OLIVE LEAF Foundation's Chief Financial Officer since July 2004. She is responsible for directing company financial policy, systems and procedures, and ensuring compliance to the South African regulatory framework as well as donor requirements.
Elanie joined the OLIVE LEAF Foundation (known as HOPE worldwide South Africa at the time) in August 2001 as the financial manager for the South African programmes. In this position she designed and implemented new business processes and systems, including new accounting software and a payroll system. Under her leadership the OLIVE LEAF Foundation has managed to produce unqualified audits every year.
As a newly qualified chartered accountant, Elanie served as a group accountant at Omnia Group Ltd for three years. In this position she was responsible for the consolidation of multiple subsidiaries in this listed company. Before joining the OLIVE LEAF Foundation, Elanie served as a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria.
Elanie graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree (B.Com) in accounting from the Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg) in 1993. She completed an honours degree in accounting, as well as the certificate in the theory of accounting (CTA) the following year and passed the Public Accountants and Auditors Board exam in March 1995. She completed her three year articles with KPMG in 1997.
Elanie married Alex in 1997. With their two sons Xander and Louis, they live in Centurion, Pretoria.
