Area Manager|Polokwane


Alfred MatsimbiAlfred Matsimbi joined the OLIVE LEAF Foundation in September 2008 as the Area Manager for Polokwane  

As the Area Manager of the youngest and newest site that OLF has started in Limpopo, his role and responsibilities include leading the establishment of new partnerships, lead a team of Co-ordinators and Field workers, liaising with different government departments, planning and organizing OLF projects in the Limpopo province.

  

A former Acting Principal and Gauteng Education Specialist, Alfred has served the Department of Education for more than fifteen years. He started his teaching career in 1992 and taught in two senior secondary schools before being promoted to become the Education Specialist (school based) in 2000. In 2006 Alfred was appointed as the Acting Principal of Tipfuxeni Combined School, the position he held until his resignation in 2008.

Alfred has served in various committees within the Education Department and community structures. Since 2002 until present he serves as a Deacon in his church where he facilitates premarital and marriage counseling. In 2006 until August 2008 Alfred served as a Co-ordinator for South Africa United Kingdom Kenya partnership (SAUKKE), a Connecting Classrooms project sponsored by the British Council South Africa. From 2003  till 2006 Alfred served as the Chairperson of the Capital Park School Governing Body and from 2005 till 2008 he served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Zakheni Training and Development Centre, which is a Non Governmental Organization in Tshwane North, Pretoria.

 

Alfred graduated in 1991 with a BAEd degree from the University of Pretoria and in 2000 with a BA Honours degree in Psychology. He also received an HR certificate in Managing the Employment Processes (MEPR) from Unisa in 2006. His passion is in Marriage Counselling, HIV/AIDS counseling and Community Development. Alfred is married to Fikile and they have two sons.
