Area Manager|Durban


Area Manager|DurbanRooks Moodley was appointed as the Area Manager |Durban in July 2009. She is responsible for  the team and programme activities in the Durban Region.

Before joining OLIVE LEAF Foundation Rooks was involved with the non profit sector for the past 16 years. Rooks worked in Kwa-Zulu Natal  South Coast Region for an established Non Governmental Organisation, Practical Ministries , that focused it work of social injustice , democracy education and holding local government accountable for service delivery to impoverished communities. One of the key highlights was her active involvement in a housing and development project of a community that was devastated in political violence.  Rooks worked in various posts  until she eventually functioned as the Director of the NGO.

In 2005 she relocated to the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands Region and worked as a Programme Manager for an emerging NGO, RivLife International.

This NGO managed a multifaceted community centre located within the heart of a disenfranchised and disempowered community.  The core focus of Rook’s work was around prevention, orphans and vulnerable children and care and support to terminally ill families.  

Rooks graduated with a BA in Human and Social Studies specializing in Community Development trough the University of South Africa (UNISA). She lives in Pietermaritzburg and has been married to Samuel since 1995.
